@emax since this is a topic that comes up every so often, and not many people do it, it would probably be helpful if you jotted down a complete set of notes. Which template did you use, what Xcode settings, etc, other gotchas.

Unexpected EOF( End Of File ) while parsing is a syntax error which means the end of source code is reached even before all the blocks of code are completed. This happens in a number of situations in Python, such as:

Missing or unmatched parentheses. Forget to enclose code inside a special statement. Unfinished try statement.

To solve this error, first check to make sure that every if statement, for loop, while loop, try statement and function contains code. Second, check to make sure you close all the parenthesis in your code. Moreover, you can avoid this problem by keeping code neat and readable, making it easier to find and fix the problem whenever the error does occur.

Thank you for that note. That gave me the relevant hint: Just connecting the iPad to the computer allowed me to run it on my computer.

but I don't get any further than finding scene.py and that's that then. The refered _scene2.py is within Py3Kit.framework.

I started using Pythonista on the iPad as I wanted to have my daughter learn some Python on the iPad she just got for Christmas. She loves the included tutorials and of course wants to share her latest and greatest on the appstore.

But we don't find any tutorial on how to do this with the current version of Pythonista (3), nor do we get it even to work on XCode on my Macbook.

It would be great if you had found a way.

Thank you for sharing this tip about searching text in your scripts with the help of the popup menu. It's really helpful to have a way to easily scan your sources and find specific text. I can definitely see how this could be really useful while working with scripts and popups.
I'm going to keep this tip in mind while I'm working with popups in the https://promolayer.io online maker. It's always great to have some extra tools and techniques at your disposal to make your work more efficient and effective.
