Thank you for the suggestions! I ended up going the easy way and requiring to pass in the master view. Kept the TableView hidden on the master (and thus un-touchable) until the combobox is touched.

Ui wont run elsewhere, but of course you can use a webview.

was an old attempt at wrapping webview with backend python launching in a cross platform way. So you use html/js/css, with some python running the show in the background.
I have nevr used it, so not sure how far he got (also, not sure if it will work with latest pythonista)

But you are right Phone calls and WhatsApp are different things.
Maybe there is a url scheme for whats app, or a action for Shortcuts.

But back to what i'm interested in (call shortcut and return to pythonista)

@rxvan, the package that contains attr.s is installed with pip install attrs (note the s) and imported with attr (no s). There is also a package called attr which is also imported with attr but does not contain attr.s.

Looks like you have the wrong one. Try removing that and installing attrs.

I'll just point out that the turtle module in pythonista is written in pure python (plus the canvas or ui module, I forget which), so can be edited to provide whatever missing functionality you need... Although that may be more effort than you really want!

The cpython turtle module is mostly NOT tkinter -- in theory it shouldn't be too hard to just strip out the tkinter drawing methods with ui.path drawing methods.

If you are trying required to submit programs that work in a particular environment, you probably should make sure that you run your final checks in that
environment -- get yourself a free shell account if you don't have a desktop/laptop. Sagecell also is a way that you can run code in a more standard environment (there are some threads on pythonista and sagecell with a wrench script that lets you run a script edited in pythonista on a sagecell server)
