Common Acronym for Pythonista
-
@omz, can you please announce an acronym for Pythonista. (Sorry, If there is one, I have never seen it). I often struggle with this small issue. But its fundamental. I would put forward 'PISTA'.
But it would be nice to have an offical one from you.
Example, I am trying to name some vars now about Pythonista's home dir. Of course I am just making them up. If you had an acronym (granted it's difficult for a single word) but we could all be on the same page when referring to Pythonista in our code without having to use comments to give the var meaning.I know it's a small thing, but it's really a big thing. If you decide Pythonista should not have an acronym, then so be it. It's your app.
I have not thought of multicultural issues with my submission of 'PISTA' as you should. I understand in a world wide market place, you have to be a little careful.
Sorry to be a pain in the ass. But at least in my mind it's important 😍 -
It's a bit difficult to come up with an acronym for a single word, and I haven't often found the need for abbreviating it. If you want to name variables that are platform-specific, you could perhaps use something like
ios_
as a prefix, but I know that's not ideal because there are other Python implementations on iOS... -
@omz , ok then until you announce one, I am just going to use 'PISTA'. I just need one acronym in my head

wouldn't PYSTA make more sense?
