Problem with Pythonista on 2018 iPad pro
-
The pop up keyboard bar covers the input line for the console on the new iPad Pro. I’m using the larger model, and it happens with the Smart Keyboard attached or using the software keyboard in landscape mode. The problem occurs whatever size the pythonista window is displayed at (full screen, part screen or as a floating window).
Hope this is an easy fix... the new processor on this thing makes it a dream for Pythonista development.
Thanks in advance!

I’ll have a look at this once I have the new hardware. It’ll probably go away automatically anyway, when I build with the new SDK, but I’ll check. Thanks for the bug report!

Disabling "Shortcuts" in the iOS keyboard settings fixed this for me (after a close and reopen of the app) by hiding the toolbar. Obviously it'd be handy to have it just laid out nicely instead of removing it, but it's a reasonable compromise in the meantime.

@james_a_craig Thanks for your advice. This is exactly what I want!

I'm having this issue too, and disabling shortcuts did help the single-line "console" stay visible, but I think what I'd like to see is a console that actually just behaved like a terminal window; what I type and arrow-key navigate could just be in the window with the output. So, I guess this is a feature request for my favorite python environment :-)

I’m having this issue as well. Any time I’m in landscape mode and begin typing in the console row, the extended keyboard pops up and blocks the view of the input row. I turned off shortcuts as a workaround, but that also prevented 1Password from prompting to fill passwords, which is a dealbreaker for me. Would love to see an update, but will just deal with it for the time being.

I’m having the same issue. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.
