@cvp , I understand. But I am still very happy. This will only be a matter of weeks before this stuff is working very well. Just to have the option is such a break through I think. I think the tech is secondary to the will to do it. The tech will get sorted out, the will to open the door has been the biggest issue:)
When there is a beta version available then it should have everything that the Apple Store version has plus some improvements or new features (modules, methods, functions, upgrades) that should be considered experimental!! If you use Pythonista for production work then you should probably avoid using beta versions. If you use Pythonista in a hobbiest mode then you may want to consider beta testing it. However, you do so at your own risk.
Jon - thanks, you set me on the right track -- the app I want to paste into (MarginNote) accepts rich text only if it's formatted as an Apple Web Archive type. Here's how I ultimately got it to work for Python 2.7, thanks to this guide on coercing HTML into an archive type:
