Possible Pythonista 1.5 glitch: Alert text field not focusing with ext keyboard
-
[I use Pythonista on my iPad exclusively with an ext. BT keyboard. As such, the fewer times I have to take my fingers away from the keyboard to tap the ipad screen, the better. I hesitate to report this as an application bug as it really may be more of an iOS Bluetooth API issue]
Desc: When using any of the filemanager features (e.g.,renaming/creating folders) that brings up an alert requiring text input, you have to tap the field first before you can begin typing into that field via a BT keyboard.
Example: In filebrowser pane, tap 'Edit', then tap 'New Folder...' which brings up a 'New Folder' alert with a blank text field (for the user to type in the name of a folder) with a blinking cursor. However, at this point no text typed on a BT keyboard registers. Once you tap into the text field, text can be typed as expected.
Other: Occurs with Pythonista 1.4/1.5 on iOS7/8.0/8.1/8.1.1 with at least two different brands of ext keyboard (ClamCase Pro and Zagg Folio) on iPad 4th gen and iPad Air 2.
Again, I know this a fairly minor issue but I figured I'd report it.
Thanks,
Pacco -
As far as I know that's a bug in Pythonista and has been reported before. I have the same problem with an Apple Wireless Keyboard, but only within Pythonista, other apps with such dialogs seem to correctly change keyboard focus.
PS:
In fact this seems to be fixed in the 1.6 beta version. -
Yeah, this is an issue in IOS 8, the update should help. It happens in Editorial too.
