Making Editorial More Powerful
-
Editorial is one powerful text editing software. Hopefully it will make its way to the PC.
I have made about 130 useful workflows so far, and more to come.
Databases
To make editorial more powerful, I am considering digging into how to grab data from databases using python, and using that in your document.
There are so many APIs on the internet. The FDA has free APIs, as well as some governments. There is even an API for getting bibliography information.
Libraries
Having an a Editorial based Library would be awesome. Lots of repetitive actions can be simplified for flexibility and ease of use. There might be an animation library for example, with loop events (unless the scene module is added to Editorial).
Collaboration
I am a single man band, but collaboration on these ideas would surely help.
Perhaps a section on the website for collaboration on workflows would be a good idea.Global Editorial Script
A python script that can run globally on top of editorial so that we can run workflows based on things in the editor, as some sort of delegate.
This way, I could check changes in the document and run a workflow based on that wokflow.
Anyone have any other ideas?
