I was just thinking about how I'm in the middle of learning the scene module and how it is (for me) a slow process. What I need is a good tutorial. Yes, the one included with Pythonista is extensive and covers a lot. However, it is often nice to read something a different way (often with more informal language, common speech, etc). This lead me to believe a forum just for tutorials might be good (namely for us beginners).

I understand if this is a bit redundant (we have a forum for questions), but I think that a tutorial section would be extremely useful.

So, what are your thoughts on this?

        +1, I think it's a good idea.

On a slightly related note: Pythonista community seems to be less vibrant then I would like to it to be. I don't know why. Looking at Codea's forum that has dozens of posts daily I'm envious...

Yes, I envy Codea's size too. But size comes from time (and good App Store reviews).

And thanks for likening my idea :)

Concerning Codea's forums, codea has been around a lot longer.

If we want Pythonista's forums to compete, the solution is simple. Everyone needs to contribute more!!! I have been trying to contribute though I haven't done much programming this last week.

As for the tutorial section, I would like that as well. I would be willing to write some basic tutorials to help people get started.

My biggest problems are time and comimitment. School takes up the majority of my time and its hard for me to work without a goal which i currently dont have. I believe others have a similar problem

I try to get on myself everyday, but it ends up being only four or five times a week...

As far as coding goes, I'm still learning a lot. Thats what made me think of having a tutorial section (largely due to the lack of tutorials on the special modules (scene, canvas, etc.)).

Great idea! Personally I learn far more from "explained code" than from trying to wade thru the (still good) documentation

Haha I just learn from copying what everyone else does >.>

But yeah it ALWAYS helps to have someone explaining what the program is doing, especially for some of the more obscure stuff. I've noticed as I get better at programming the stuff I write becomes more confusing lol.

@omz - Tutorial section! Do ittttt

Not sure why I never tried @omz and see what would happen.

As far as learning by example goes, it helps to have written explanations (which is why I love pound sings).
