Three letter word before "is" crashes the app?
-
Can anyone confirm if I have found a bug, please?
Enter this simple text:
print "third and is"
Now place cursor immediately before the word "is" and attempt to type the word "for" followed by a space
Does it crash? -
Follow up-
Seems any word of 3 or more characters followed by a space will crash the app:print "abc is"
Cursor before "is" then any 3 or more letters followed by a space does it too.

I don't seem to be having this glitch..

I can't reproduce this crash. Do you happen to have any jailbreak tweaks installed that might do anything with the keyboard (or text input in general)? I know of a similar issue with "iKeyWi" (which I think is fixed now, but I'm not entirely sure). Also: Which iOS version are you using?

I can't reproduce error. (Ipad3, 6.1.3 ios)
-
I have the iPad2, iOS 6.1.3, but I can't reproduce said error.

Neither can I (iPad 2, iOS 6.1).
-
Can't reproduce on an iPad 128gb. Neither on the command line nor in the Editor.
-
No jailbreak. Just ipad1 iOS 5.1.1 16gb
I'll try a hard reset and see if that fixes it -
...still the same problem. Maybe ios5 or ipad1 related?
If I do it the otherway round and put the space in first then the text before the space it's ok. Weird. -
Thanks for the additional info. On iOS 5 I can actually reproduce the problem, but I haven't had much luck with fixing this yet. So far, it seems to me that this is a bug in iOS, especially given that this doesn't occur at all on iOS 6. I'm not sure yet if I can find a workaround for this behavior, but I'll keep looking.

Many thanks for taking the time to look into this. Reassuring to know.
Time for a new iPad, perhaps?
Anyone want to get me an early birthday present? ;-)
