Do any of you folks use Slack?
-
I have been hearing a lot of folks talk about http://slack.com for collaboration across teams. Are any of you using it? If so, do you recommend it? Would it make sense to create a Slack channel for Pythonista or Pythonista-Tools or Editorial?
-
My internal team is using it. Maybe Pythonista / Editorial need an "omz" site.
-
I was just thinking of this the other day. I actually use it with my app development class in school.
-
Haven't played with it. @techteej I wish my high school had classes like that. We have 3 computer science classes, one of which is in Scratch, one in Java, and one in JavaScript. Objective-C classes or Python classes would be awesome.
-
@Webmaster4o we have just started adding more computer classes (as now the entire student body uses iPads) so we have a Python class in Pythonista, App Development in multiple languages and a Java class
-
Wow. That sounds awesome. Where is your school located?
-
@Webmaster4o Southern New Jersey!
-
Awesome. I'm in New Paltz, in central New York. My school is trying to run more technology classes through Project Lead The Way, maybe I can get them to run some of the computer science classes.
-
New Paltz? Centre of NY wine district and just over the river from IBM. :-)
Seriously, if you're wanting to run more technology classes maybe some of my chums in Poughkeepsie might be useful; They've been working with Marist for many years....
And your "Project Lead The Way" link appears broken to me. :-(
-
Yeah, that's the one. We're right next to Poughkipsee. As a high school freshman, I don't have much say, besides the fact that my school has said they're open to running more PLTW classes if we have significant interest (enough people to run a class) and I don't think they're looking to bring in too much outside help. But thanks for the offer.

@dgelessus ,thanks. What a shit head. I think we have to start calling them for that there, scammers, thieves and vandals. Maybe even harder language if his link leads to something that is malicious rather than a advertisement. Leeches like this make me so angry.
