Welcome!
This is the community forum for my apps Pythonista and Editorial.
For individual support questions, you can also send an email. If you have a very short question or just want to say hello — I'm @olemoritz on Twitter.
When Pythonista 2.0 comes, how do we transition?

@omz, I am guessing because you have not written about it, that those on the beta will be seamlessly updated to version 2.0 when it's available in the AppStore? I have automatic app updates on. I just want to make sure I don't get my scripts wiped out.
Sorry, maybe a silly question, but I have know idea what's going to happen when the new version arrives -
I'm hoping very much that it'll work like any other app update, but it's unfortunately a scenario that I can't test completely. Having a backup is always a good idea (I recently had a device stolen), but I don't really expect that it'll be necessary. The version number of the release version is higher than the beta, so the update should just show up in the App Store for beta users as well as those on 1.5.

@omz , OK nice. I am trying to take precautions. I cut your backup script up, just to give me a backup.zip in the root. Then I can just send it to Dropbox. But It failed a few times. But the zip is 45mb. Is because I have a lot of pics for the movie app I was doing :)
When I get the chance, I will add a filter to ignore certain file ext, I know you can do this in seconds correctly, but I can't. When I get home and on charge I will get the backup going again. I also run console.set_idle_timer_disabled(True) before sending it to Dropbox, otherwise it times out, as you would expect unless you have some mega upload capability 😭 -
Will there be an ongoing beta program?

Yes but you have to port all your code to Python3... I am joking, unfortunately.
