Pythonista beta IPAs
-
Would it be possible to provide IPA files for the beta version. This is so people that want to look at the beta can and not take up space in TestFlight. This can also be used by anyone that can sign n IPA file as well.
-
As far as I know
ipa
files are bound to an iTunes account, so there's no way to distribute anipa
that can be used by anyone. -
An IPA file from the developer isn't tied to an iTunes account.
-
The way it would be done is @omz would make an IPA package for one of his devices. With a jailbreak it will ignore the entitlements and allow the app to run. For someone with a dev account of their own they can just replace the entitlements with their own. I don't know if this breaks any rules set by Apple though.
-
@scj643 do you want this because your devices are jailbroken? Or another reason?
-
I want this so I can test pythonista beta no other reason.
-
@scj643 , ok. I Was just interested

One or two.

I wasn't aware that you could even generate an
ipa
like that. Then again, I haven't done anything related to iOS app development except for playing around with the example projects, and what I remember from that is that the apps were installed into the iDevice simulator asapp
bundle, not as anipa
. Perhaps the procedure is different with real devices. -
May be worth just waiting for 2.0 to release in the app store after Christmas.
