Malfunctioning iPad Keyboard Scrolling
-
Pythonista works fine on my iPhone 5. However, when I type on my iPad mini, the keyboard obscures:
- the bottom of any long script
- the interpreter input in the console window
- the code completion bubbles
These problems make the Pythonista basically unusable for me on my iPad. I'm shocked no one else is complaining about this. Am I missing some setting?
-
That's weird, I've never heard of this issue. Is anyone else seeing this? The usual questions: Which version of iOS do you have installed? Jailbreak? Have you tried restarting the device?
-
One other question: Have you been using a hardware keyboard (shortly) before you ran into this problem? I could imagine that it somehow has to do with that. Perhaps the app somehow wasn't notified properly that the hardware keyboard was disconnected, and doesn't adjust the UI for the software keyboard because of that...

I use Pythonista on iPad mini (iOS 6.1.2) and I have never had any of the problems you describe. Just went and "double checked" your list. Have you tried to "kill" the program entirely (even cold boot of the iPad)?
-
I restarted the iPad, killed the program, deleted the program, and reinstalled it. Nothing. I have no hardware keyboard and factory settings that are fully updated.
But I figured it out. The problem wasn't Pythonista at all. It was the iPad Mini. I realized this when the same thing happened in Evernote. It is a known issue with a simple but weird solution:
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4506611?start=0&tstart=0I just had to undock and split the keyboard, then redock and unsplit it and, voila, suddenly all apps scrolled above it correctly again.

Thanks for clearing that up!

THANK YOU! I had the same problem and this really fixed it. :)
Also, anyone tried Touchfire keyboard? I wanted to try this and see if their 3D feature works great. You may look at the site here http://www.touchfire.com/
