Bluetooth keyboard, what do you suggest?
-
I don't have any bluetooth keyboard yet. I'd like to get one.
After a quick google search, Microsoft Universal Mobile Keyboard popped up a lot.
Anyone using it? It is that great, pros and cons? Or do you suggest something else?
Please let me know.

@Balur , personally I think the big decision is the form factor. Eg. Do you want it built into a cover, and what orientations do you want it to support. Also the angles supported.bwhen used as a stand that is, giving that you want it as a stand at all

@Phuket2, I don't want cover keyboard. I have a pouch case, that is fine for me. Plus I'd like to pair with multiple device. Seperate keyboard or with some kind of built in stand. Orientation is not decided yet, because I never have a bt keyboard, but maybe landscape.

@Balur , ok I understand. There are so many solutions though. I think you need to get very specific about your needs. Well i mean in your thought process. It's the old cons and pro table I think. I would assume most function pretty good, unless you buy a no name brand. You could always look for keyboards that can update their firmware, not sure if they exist or not.
I am not trying to be smart, just pragmatic. I do a lot of tech shopping and I see how I go wrong. I forget about form and function, I end up buying a lot of crap.
Just an apple link....

In thailand we get all sorts of crazy junk from Asia. A lot of it is just that, junk. Some is great.

@Phuket2 Too many keyboards yes. I give MS keyboard a try, I read some good review. If it fails me, I'll request a refund and move along.

Hey,
I only have some rather generic or anecdotal advice. I do assume that you want to use the keyboard to write some code.

If you live in a country which has its own keyboard layout, make sure you do buy the english version of your keyboard. Especially in lannguages with a lot of diacritics the special characters are the first ones to be tossed out of the window to make some room in the limited space of a mobile keyboard. Keep in mind that product photos almost always depict the english version. I bought a german Belkin top of the line keyboard one year ago which wasn't able to type brackets due to this (I cannot remember its exact name).

I also made sone bad experiences with sleeve/case style keyboards. While many of them are just considerably heavier and bulkier than a normal case some of them seem to overcome this limitation. But keep in mind that these ones are also quite fragile and you cannot roughhouse the cover as much as you would with a normal cover. Also stay away from any magnetic activation / wireless reloading shenanigans as they are also not very robust. I explicitly made these experiences with the Logitech CREATE.
I did end up with an (enUS) Apple Magic Keyboard and I am quite satisfied with it. It is quite robust which is important for me and also works well in pythonista and CODA. The only thing it does lack a bit is mobility, as it does not fit into all bags a iPad Pro would fit in. I also would be quite interested in your findings for the MS Natural Foldable Keyboard.
Cheers

You can try Logitech K380. It is light and the keypads are soft. It doesn't hard to get signal even a little far away from the source.

When I first got my Apple Smart Keyboard, I was very critical of it, simply because of the angle. Now I will eat my words. I love it. The keys are not always as tactile as you would like, but given the form factor, the smart connector, acting as a case, I can over look that. I have found I have just learned to hit the keys a little harder. Only 2 gripes I have with it is no ESC key and the fact I cant use it portrait mode. The portrait mode thing is understandable, but its amazing how many Apps are still iPhone only apps that I want to use. But if Apple pulled off some magic and released a new Smart Keyboard that could handle both orientations, I would be first in line to buy it :) I should mention I also like the foot print and the profile of the keyboard. An external keyboard would offer new challenges I think, especially given you still have to heavily interact with the touch screen. Just my 2 cents worth
