File sharing and storage to OneDrive
-
I used to be able to save to OneDrive prior to the release of v2. Is this by design? or did the upgrade trigger something? (do love the new version anyway.
-
Save to OneDrive how? Through the share sheet? Programmatically? What changed? Sorry, I need more information about how you used to save to OneDrive in versions past.
-
If it was through the share sheet, I cannot say why it does not work anymore (does it work else where?)
If it was through the share sheet another alternative would be to use the python SDK provided by Microsoft -
Sorry I should have been clearer, it was through the Share sheet (that wrench thing) It was there, now it is not, but everything else is still there and I now have to email it to myself so I can use the scripts on another machine... And the iCloud thing... which I don't use, is gone as well. gist is there, but basically putting anything onto a shared storage space that I can use on multiple platforms is gone.
PS yes it works with other applications... and I did nothing special to get the previous pythonista to recognize it... I find a lot of things on the iPad just appear/happen automagically which in most circumstances is ok.

Were you using 1.4 or 1.5? I thought most of the share sheet options got removed at apple's demand in 1.5
-
@JonB I can't remember which version since I only bought it last year. No biggie, it is just a pain emailing stuff to myself rather than using a shared drive.

It's relatively easy to get this functionality back. Here's how:
- Create a new script, and call it something like "Open in"
- Paste the following code:
import console, editor console.open_in(editor.get_path())
- Tap the "wrench" icon
- Tap Edit inside the "wrench" menu, then the (+) button that appears
- Optionally select a nice icon and color for your action
- Tap Done
A "Copy to OneDrive" option should appear in the menu that pops up when you select the new editor action you created.

brilliant! worked like a charm... I even sent it to myself via OneDrive so I don't forget again.
