Pythonista ReplayKit

Not needed though, and in fact does not work on ios8.
Just use ObjCClass for any missing class names, like NSBundle. -
-
That's exciting.
-
Looks great, but can I use this function in my own programs or is it only good for making tutorials? Sorry but I don't understand objc_util :(. Btw. who knows a good/short tutorial for this stuff?
-
@brumm ReplayKit is a framework made by Apple. It's designed specifically to allow game developers to provide an easy way for players to record their games. Basically, it's for recording the screen and playing it back. If you're making a game, it's great to use. The main way I could see Pythonista users using it is to record demos of things they create.

@Webmaster4o , I think a good idea. There should be richer media to even the smallest of helper classes/functions in my mind. I haven't tried it, but I know you can also record your iOS screen with a QuickTime movie if the device is connected to your Mac, not sure about Windows.
-
Yes, that's correct. I also grabbed the wonderful Vidyo app for $4.99 about a month ago when it became briefly available, which is able to record the iOS screen for any app. It was pulled by Apple about 6 hours after appearing initially. It worked by pretending to be an Apple TV, even though it was just an app, and then you would turn on AirPlay mirroring to it, and it would record everything it recieved as input through its fake channel.
-
@Webmaster4o , wow. I wish I had that app. So many times I wanted one of my iOS devices to be a AirPlay server. Just for testing. Like just making a status board or something.i can see how it could be used to get around many other things. But it's so annoying it's not available. They will fight it as long as they can , then will offer it. Btw, I don't think it's apple. I think it's more about the content provider deals. Anyway, I want any of my iOS devices to be able to be a AirPlay receiver if possible 😎

@Phuket2 Jailbreak.
-
@disorientedp , I find it hard to to make my way to the bar every day, even I live opposite in a hotel. So for old man like me, jail breaking not really an option.i need things in my life simple. KISS
-
AFAIK, jailbreak is not an option (at present) if you are on ios9.1 or beyond.
-
@Phuket2 It's not actually an all-purpose AirPlay server. It won't show you mirroring from another device. In this case, it's just for local screen recording, nothing else, but I could see it being useful with other devices.
-
@Webmaster4o , fair enough. I think we will get one at some point. I assumed it would be possible with a jail broken device. I don't have the patience or desire to start jail breaking. Anyway, thanks for the info.

I actually suspect that system-wide screen recording will be a feature of iOS 10. All the technical pieces are in place, and it would be extremely useful for lots of things. Mark my words. ;)
