Pythonista icons beta 2 and beta 3, large icon not same as small icon
-
@omz , I hate the small logo if that's what you are going to do. It's to retro, all the other (let's say not so good) Python apps use it. Of course I understand why. My personal feeling it should be modern and flashy. I think about Pythonista that way.
-
I hear you. I don't intend to use the Python logo anymore (I did use it for the previous beta, you're just not seeing it because I forgot to include the iPad Pro icon size, which is slightly different from other devices).
My current plan is to keep the symbol pretty much the same as in the Pythonista 2 icon, but change the (background) color to distinguish it from the "old" version. Even if it's unlikely that a lot of people will keep Pythonista 2 installed after upgrading to 3, I do think that the two versions should be visually distinguishable. Using the same icon with a different color should make it clear that it's a different version of the same app.

@omz , ok great. Just happy it's not the small one 👍 You could also run a competition here for people to submit icons. Just an idea. You don't need to take everying on yourself.

Random icon idea probably bad - combine the prompt logo with the two Pythonista heads coming off the ends of it.

@omz I love the new logo. It's a great color. Fear not 😉
And it looks great in my folder:
I think the logo blends even better with the new color. On the blue, the logo almost looks like it's popping off the background (to me). I don't see that with the new color, I think the new color makes the icon look flatter, as well as more modern and clean 👍

@Webmaster4o Nice gradient you have there
:)
Now omz just needs to make the Editorial logo a darker orange and the pattern would be perfect. -
@dgelessus Lol I actually didn't even notice. 😛
-
@omz Thanks for the new icon. But not in high-res, please make it as a high-res, because in different iDevices its horrible to see.
-
@due3die I'm not sure what you mean. Where exactly are you seeing a non-high-res version of the icon?

Thanks! :) In the old icon, there is actually a (somewhat subtle) drop shadow behind the '>' glyph; I removed that in the new one, so it's not just the color that makes it look flatter.

@omz In my iPad 3 & iPhone 5C some pixels very blur.

@due3die Could you post a screenshot please? I don't see this at all.
