      Hi,

I am considering buying Editorial for editing markdown on iPad. The other alternative is 1writer, i don't know what are the main differencies between them. Can you help me please? Thanks

I also don't know. However, I think a good thing to look at is the forums of both products. Community involvement can be a big factor. Not sure about 1writer, but editorial can also execute python. Maybe that's not important for you, but it also can be a big deal. And it's all built in.
I own Editorial, but don't use it for markdown so I can't comment on that usage. I use the other Product from @omz, called , Pythonista everyday and love it.
Anyway, not trying to be biased, just a few things I know

The big advantage of editorial is that you can extend all the app's functionality through the Python programming language. (And by all i mean you could theoretically make an app in editorial, if you know how to use Objective-C).
But there are more user friendly modules such as the ui module which lets you create simple user interfaces.

If you don't know how to use python there is still a block based workflow system which is pretty powerful. And you can still build UIs with that.

Editorial also includes an handy web browser (i am not sure if 1Writer has it)

Plus if i am not mistaken there's an update coming in the future :-)

I've not tried it but 1Writer claims javascript support. Some people might like that: http://1writerapp.com/docs/js

@rtorot , actually If I can speak freely, I would say just buy both. Probably can't go wrong. I guessing they both have their strengths. Should not break the bank. Then you have the best of both worlds

@filippocld I am interested in automation features, so my doubt was python vs javascript. Researching I realize Editorial is more powerful. How do you extend it with objective-c?

@Phuket2 It was only because they are so similar that I would end using only one anyway... But you are right, they are pretty inexpensive.

@rtorot there's the objc_util module and with it you can do anything if you know objective c and ctypes

@rtorot , fair enough. I understand. I am not sure Editorial can access Objective C at the moment. Pythonista can, but I thought for now Editorial could not. But maybe it's been updated. But with Python you can do so much. Maybe there are some special cases access to Objective C could help in Editorial, but would have to say that in most cases it would be Python that really helps you along with WorkFlows
