Is the keychain memory saved in the ICloud (or iTunes) backup?
-
The local files of Pythonista are not saved in the ICloud (or iTunes) backup of the iDevice.
But the keychain feature allows to save a big string as a password, for instance an entire file as a string.
And my question is: "Is the keychain memory saved in the ICloud (or iTunes) backup?"
I know I could test it by reinstalling my iDevice from an ICloud backup, but if I can avoid this step, I would be happy. -
My guess would be that if you have iCloud Keychain enabled, the Pythonista keychain will get synced (so it will effectively be backed up into iCloud). I don't use iCloud Keychain though, so I can't test this.
The iTunes backup includes "sensitive" data (keychain, Health) only if you set a password to encrypt the local backup.

Thanks for your answer.
I don't use the ICloud Keychain but I save my iDevice on ICloud, this I hoped that the Pythonista's keychain was saved in the backup...Found that
When a user backs up an iOS device to iTunes or iCloud, the keychain data is included in the backup, but the secret data in the keychain remain encrypted. The keychain password is not included in the backup. The passwords and other secrets stored in the keychain can only be extracted from a backup by restoring it to a device, and unlocking the device with the same passcode the user set before making the backup. This makes the keychain the safest place to persistently store a user’s secret data.
