Welcome!
This is the community forum for my apps Pythonista and Editorial.
For individual support questions, you can also send an email. If you have a very short question or just want to say hello — I'm @olemoritz on Twitter.
Where are Pythonista py scripts stored in the file system?
-
What is the absolute directory where Pythonista scripts are stored?
Pythonista.app does not exist in /Applications(Assume I have access to the full file system)
-
I'll answer my own question. py files are stored in the following Pythonista directory on the iPad Pro running iOS 9.3.3:
/var/mobile/Containers/Shared/AppGroup/Random_String/Pythonista3/Documents

Does this mean that your iOS device is jailbroken? If it is not then you do not.
https://github.com/cclauss/Ten-lines-or-less/blob/master/cd_ls_pwd.py will let you use the Pythonista console to ls(), cd(), pwd(). It is super primitive but you can poke around within the security limits that Apple sets. Your .py files are in ~/Documents.

You probably want to get a hold of StaSH https://github.com/Pythonista-Tools/Pythonista-Tools/blob/master/Utilities.md

You can get the path to the root of Pythonista's "file system" with
os.path.expanduser("~/Documents")
, and the path to the Pythonista.app bundle (read-only) usingos.path.dirname(sys.executable)
. Other accessible parts of the file system (also read-only) include/System/Library
and subfolders, as well as/
(but not most of its subfolders).
