Disable the Extended Keyboard
-
I am using the standard Pythonista (non Beta) with iOS 11 Beta 2, I am trying to disable the extended keyboard (row with Pythonista shortcuts) but when I "tap and hold the globe" key there is no option to turn off the shortcuts, am I doing something wrong? I've tested this behavior on my iPad Pro 10.5 and 12.9, on both is the same, thanks

Is this on iOS 11? The option doesn’t exist there anymore. I'm working on a solution.

Yes it is iOS 11

Okay, there are some changes with regards to the extended keyboard that I'm still working on. iOS 11 has some new system-level features on the keyboard which basically mean that I'll have to re-design Pythonista's keyboard additions anyway.

Yeah my extra row of keys is a dismembered shell of what it was. I will say, though, Pythonista has held up miraculously perfectly throughout the 11 beta.
The next day...
Whoa! I wrote this yesterday but never submitted it. Here it is waiting for me. Amazingly, in the span of less than 24 hours, beta 5 came and the extra row has reappeared! Huzzah!

How can I disable the extended keyboard? I did not find the option in settings, thanks

This would be a great feature, on my iPad when typing in the console the keyboard extension covers the input line of the console whether or not i am using a physical keyboard
Great job on Pythonista as a while though! I love it

‘Yes, +1 on this comment. I just upgraded to Pythonista 3 for the split screen capability, and was disappointed to find that there is a row of special keys that covers the console input line. I’m using the 11” iPad Pro with Apple’s Smart Keyboard cover. Was excited to use this app in split screen mode, but i can’t if the input line is covered by a row of keys that I can’t dismiss.

Yes i struggle on an IPad Pro as well. When using the console the input bar is covered. You either have to type blind or run the commands in a file. Anyone got any solutions for this?
I recently discovered Juno (Jupyter for IPad) which makes it very and convenient to use Python commands directly in the interpreter and gets around my problem with Pythonista, If i want to quickly test a concept switch to Juno. Nice thing is it keeps a record of Input and Output so you can go back, rerun, try different approaches etc.
