Get image name in share extension - native apps can
-
I am trying to get the actual filename of an image passed to a Pythonista script using the share sheet extension. I believe this is possible as when I use the share sheet to ViewExif it shows the filename correctly. I searched and searched and read a lot of pages on this and tried the various suggestions with no success. One method sometimes shows the image name but mostly shows a name with OutgoingTemp folder and a UUID string. As mentioned these same files show the name in ViewExif. It seems images passed in the share extension are "image" objects and an "asset" object contains the filename (how to get back to the asset from an image???). If anyone knows how to get the actual filenames in the share sheet extension it would be greatly appreciated.

A similar problem (how to get a photo library asset object from a share sheet image) was recently discussed here : https://forum.omz-software.com/topic/4101/using-appex-to-modify-a-photo-creation-date-directly
