Siri for Pythonista ?
-
Is Siri ever going to be able work with Pythonista?
For example “hey Siri using Pythonista tell name picker to pick a name”
And it will run a script

Unlikely in the near future. Siri integration for third-party apps is currently limited to very specific use cases, e.g. calling a cab and things like that.

Hello ellie, Im sorry I think it will not.

@omz , thats a bummer. Maybe the case could be made that the inclusion of Siri in Pythonista is some sort of academic/educational/research/skills enabler. Hmmmm, maybe its a stretch. However you never know, it could be a valid submission.
Food for thought :)

Well, maybe in iOS 12 with Siri Shortcuts the story may be a little different. If we can use at least URL schemes with voice commands it will be some progress. Has anyone around here had the opportunity to play with the developer beta and Pythonista?

Hi - checking to see if this is may be considered again now that Siri Shortcuts is out with iOS 12?
Lots of apps now allow you to create custom shortcuts now for them. Right now, I have created a Shortcut in the iOS Shortcuts app that has Pythonista run a script when I run it via Siri. It all works very well but requires me to unlock my phone first. The other apps I have configured with Siri Shortcuts directly do not require me to unlock first.
Really liking Pythonista and feel this would be a fantastic feature.
Thanks

@BrianAz look at this. This module allows you to create shortcuts for the shortcuts app in pythonista, which is compatible with siri

The integration with the new Shortcuts app (by Apple) would be great and can bypass the Siri wall (because we can add possibilities to trigger programs with Siri like that).

We have that in the next version, I’m already testing it out and I love it

Also my wish came true
