iCloud Drive folder access error
-
I’m getting a new error while trying to access my iCloud Drive from within the app.
“Could not read directory contents”
“You may not have permission to view this directory (eg. because it belongs to a different app)I’ve deleted and reinstalled, restarted my phone, even deleted the iCloud Drive folder and reinstalled to force it to create a new Drive folder but it won’t create a new folder just complains with this error any time it try to access it. Oddly enough if I use the “external files” picker and navigate to a different folder within iCloud it works just fine as a workaround, but I don’t like workarounds I’d rather have the default folder back.
Any ideas?
Thanks! -
Bump! I’m getting the same error. I deleted the folder accidentally using the Files app. Using Pythonista v3.2 on ios iPad Pro 2 12.9”.

you could try:
os.mkdir('/private/var/mobile/Library/Mobile Documents/iCloud~com~omz-software~Pythonista3/')
os.mkdir('/private/var/mobile/Library/Mobile Documents/iCloud~com~omz-software~Pythonista3/Documents')
but..l dunno

Not create dir but remove it worked for me.
import os
os.rmdir('/private/var/mobile/Library/Mobile Documents/iCloud~com~omz-software~Pythonista3/')

Sorry to necropost, but I just started having this issue after trying out the Pythonista Beta. I tried reverting to the standard app store version, and the suggestions above, without success. I can see the Pythonista folder in iCloud from the files app, and from my mac. I can even create new scripts from Pythonista which will save in iCloud, but Pythonista cannot see them for some reason. Any ideas on what I can try?

i am getting the same error, are you running pythonista on ipad and iphone on the same icloud account ?
started happening with update ios 13.2.3 -

removing the dirs and rebooting did the trick

With a fresh install on 13.2.3 iPhone 11 Pro, I get a permissions error reading the default iCloud path in the app. I can create files but not read them.
With the os.rmdir suggestion, I was able to delete the folder (Verified in Files app), but os.mkdir failed with “ FileExistsError: [Errno 17] File exists:”
