Email -> 2Do workflow?

I'm looking for a way to take emails and turn them into todo items in 2Do. The only way to do this natively is to use toddledo, and then sync 2Do with toddledo, but that would require giving up sync with reminders and therefore Siri.
Now, 2Do supports x-url, so if I could get an email or other file into pythonista, I could use that to create a task in 2Do. The question is how to get an email into pythonista from an email app. Weirdly, neither Mail or GMail seem to have an 'open in' option, so I can't use that. It would be great to be able to place an email into a folder or at least forward to another email address which would then be added.
Besides using copy and paste, is there another way to somehow forward an email into pythonista?

Have you tried using the modules imaplib or poplib? These python modules are able to log in to mail servers and download mail directly into your python script. There is a lot of sample code to acheive email parsing on the web if you google.

Now I am kicking myself for not thinking there was a built-in python library for email. A quick search of the pythonista docs from the app would have revealed this to me. Thank you for pointing this out to me!
Of course, it turns out that 2Do doesn't support x-success, so right now I can only add tasks one at a time...... Time to email the devs it seems.
