Printing, Open In-ing
-
How can I print an Editorial document? Can't find any place in the UI or in workflows. Am I just not seeing it?
Same question regarding Open In (opening current document in another IOS app).
-
That's currently not supported. A print workflow action will be in the next update (and there'll be a default workflow to print the current document), not sure about 'Open in...' yet (it's currently possible via Python, using
console.quicklook
though). -
I think you could make a workflow to preview the current document in the Console. This would provide you an Open in option, though I'm not sure exactly how one would do that off the top of my head, outside of using
console.quicklook()
. I don't know if there's anything that would prevent that from working with the document in that way. I've only used it for output of a Markdown to Docx thing I'm working on.I would also suggest, if any of that is beyond what you want to do, using a workflow to send to Drafts, 1Writer, or any other text editor with a URL scheme that you have, as long as it has an Open in option. Of course, it's only a workaround. There may be better ways unbeknownst to me.

And to add quickly, those questions go together, I think. I believe the Open in often has Print in it, doesn't it? Well, if not, another app like 1Writer does. My above response was only about printing, getting to the option via the Open in menu. As for sending it to other apps, as far as I know, workflows are it. So just apps with URL schemes, or with Dropbox. If you Editorial files are in Dropbox, rather than local, you can use the Dropbox app's Open in menu I suppose. I added my Editorial Dropbox folder in 1Writer to make super easy sharing there, though it made my 1writer workflow practically useless to me. Hopefully one of those options works for you though, if something better doesn't come around.

There's a workflow called Share that calls
console.quicklook
and lets you print or open-in another app:http://editorial-app.appspot.com/workflow/6470443393351680/d6tSDa8k_jk

Haven't seen this one. Nice work and thanks for sharing!
