The pyspotify challenge
-
I saw in this week's issue of Pycoder's Weekly that there is now a pyspotify module that looks pretty interesting -- music metadata on 20+ million tracks... However, it is not pure Python so normally it would not work with Pythonista. The non-Python piece of the solution is libspotify which is written in C. There is an iOS version of libspotify and also an iOS version of CocoaLibSpotify which provides an Objective C wrapper for the base libspotify.
Given all of this iOS code, is there any way to get PySpotify running on Pythonista? Could putting the iOS library in the Pythonista directory allow some magic to happen? Does libspotify really need to be linked into Pythonista at build time? Would it work if Pythonista and libspotify were put together in a single XCode project?
