Moves API
-
This is really just a general question, but I'm curious as to whether or not anybody has tried anything with the API for Moves for iPhone. Or if it's even possible. I don't know yet where I'd begin (still quite new to Python).
I saw it was free the other day and decided to give it a try over my previous pedometer. I really like it's simplicity and the UI. It'd be nice to be able to get my data out, especially into Day One, similar to some f these scripts like the Pinboard and Instapaper ones posted recently on the forums that give a nice markdown table log. If anybody has done something with it, I'd be interested to hear about it. Thanks.

I'm also a python newbie, but I already got a working script that extracts my daily location data from Moves and pushes it to Day One. I didn't published my script because I got my authentication working with a lot of trial and error and so I can work with my token, but I have no idea how to implement the authentication process in the script.

Nice. If you wouldn't mind sharing your script with me, I'd be grateful. I can figure out my authentication. A lot of scripts using APIs I've seen don't implement the auth like that either - you have to manually store it in the script. It works and working is all I'm after. So if you don't mind sharing but would rather not publish it my email is charlesbucher311@gmail.com

OK, here is my 'scrappy' script ;-) : Moves2DayOne.py
I only extract location data from known locations and no transportation or other movement data because that's all I need.
If anyone is interested in modifying the script:

Thank you kindly for sharing. I've read a bit of the API docs. Maybe I'll give some modification a try after reviewing the script but I appreciate this thank you.
