Can’t use triple quotes
-
Perhaps I am doing something wrong, but when I try to use triple quotes in a print function, get an error.
File "<string>", line 1
print("""howdy you all""")
^
SyntaxError: invalid character in identifier -
You have to be careful that they are up-and-down quotes and
not quotes with a slight angle
. On iOS devices, click and hold on the quotes keyboard button and then slide your finger to select only the up-and-down quotes. -
@Old-Blue-Nose, must be something on the lines of what @ccc said, as this works fine for me:
print("""Text""")
Good idea to turn smart quotes off in the settings.
