Networkx
-
Are there any plans to include the networkx package in Pythonista in the next update? It is a great resource while teaching algorithms (using python to demo code)
-
I'll consider it. Since
networkx
is a pure Python package, you should be able to get it to work in the current version already though. Just download the source package from pypi, unzip it, and put thenetworkx
directory (package) in your Pythonista documents (the easiest way is to just use DiskAid and transfer it from a Mac or PC, though it's also possible, albeit more cumbersome to do this entirely on iOS).The plotting functionality won't work in the current version (no
matplotlib
), but I've just briefly tested it in the 1.5 beta, and it seems to work fine there. -
I'm new to the python world, but it looks like networkx relies on numpy and matplotlib, but otherwise is written entirely in python?
See this thread. http://omz-forums.appspot.com/pythonista/post/6011081608658944 The next version of pythonista is likely to include numpy and matplotlib. You could then probably download networkx with pipista (http://omz-forums.appspot.com/pythonista/post/6400412475195392)
It looks pretty cool and I'm interested in learning more about it.

Thanks, will give it a spin soon.

I’m new to Pythonista. This thread is a little old. Any chance NetworkX made it into Pythonista since then?
-
Would the following work to install it?
-
@sriats, I have successfully installed and used Networkx on Pythonista. Instructions are somewhere on this forum, I’ll see if I can find them.
Ended up scrapping it as it was way too heavy and performance was disappointing for the simple force-directed layout I needed.
