Pythonista-Tools is now open for collaboration -- Please join the effort
-
https://github.com/Pythonista-Tools is now open for business ;-) The goal is to create an open GitHub Organization that contains code and links to other GitHub Repos and Gists of tools built for Pythonista. Please view Pythonista-Tools as a GitHub extension of this user forum. Our emphasis will be on creating more Repos and fewer Gists because Repos encourage collaborative development on a common code while Gists encourage multiple divergent code bases. Pythonista-Tools is an open community so we want to encourage you to get involved in helping us to bring together and improve a set of great repositories of Pythonista tools.

This certainly is a great idea! I'd be glad to contribute, but I can't seem to find a way to join the organization on GitHub. Is that something you need to do manually for every person? (in case, I'm also "dgelessus" on GitHub, like on the forums.)

You are added. To others interested to join, I would suggest that you create an "issue" in the GitHub repo and we will add you.

I have a media server/client that I have been working on that I connect to with Pythonista. Could use some help collaborating(or just some advice) if anybody wants to help. I think it would be a great addition to the Pythonista-Tools repo. I just need help streamlining the setup process. As it is now, the user would have to go in to the server's script and change some things in the init so that the captcha system I wrote for it works.
It's the first real useful project I have done useing the socket module, so I'm sure the code could use some cleaning up.
So far it works and has some pretty cool/useful features though.
If anybody wants more details, or would like to help, let me know.

I added these two games written by high school students from Australia to the Pythonista apps in the Apple App Store section of Pythonista-Tools on GitHub.
See their video... https://au.news.yahoo.com/video/watch/30079193/sa-students-delve-into-app-design/#page1
If you find something valuable on Pythonista-Tools, please give the repo a star (181 so far) to make it easier for others to find. If there is something that you want listed on Pythonista-Tools, please open as issue and we will try to get it resolved.

@ccc Opened an issue for my three Pythonista apps.

Hey folks... https://github.com/Pythonista-Tools now has 255 stars on GitHub and is a great place to find and share scripts and utilities written to work on Pythonista. Read thru this thread to understand the intent and approach of Pythonista-Tools and then get involved. It can be a great way to collaborate on code of mutual interest with other developers in the community.
Remember: It is easier to debug Python code than it is to debug English prose.
