Thanks to everyone who responded. I followed the advice to use a community script. The script dropbox file picker worked just fine.

RE: file sharing

file sharing
I teach a basic computer class at a high school. For the last few years I have been teaching basic java. Next year I will have more students than computers. So I decided to try and find an IPad app that can be used, instead of PC. (All students now have IPads.) I tried a couple of java apps for the IPad, such as JVM. However, the ones I tried didn't have full functionality. Then I came across Pythonista at the app store. I have been working with it, and teaching myself Python, for the last few weeks. For the most part, I really like it. However, I am having a file sharing issue.
All staff and students have a school issued google drive account. It's easy to send a copy to google drive from the Pythonista folder structure. However, I can't figure out how to retrieve a file from google drive back to pythonista.
My degree is mathematics, so my computer knowledge is relatively limited. Can someone please point me to the easiest way for me and my students to share pythonista files? Thanks.

Graphing/UI question
I want to write a simple user interface script. Part of the ui will consist of 4 buttons. When a button is clicked, depending on the user's choice, the script will draw one of the following shapes: oval, arc, rectangle, or polygon. In the ui Add View" it seems like the only view that can be drawn on is the Image View.
1. Is this the correct or best way to go about this? a. If so, can the ImageDraw module be used together with the ui module? 2. If it is not the correct or best way, which way would you recommend.

Error message?
The script below is for a Simple calculator ui. When the add button is clicked, the numbers are supposed to be read from two text fields, txtX and txtY. and stored in variables x & y. (This part works.) However, I keep getting the message "unicode object is not callable" , when line 4 is implemented. Here is the code: Can someone please help?
import ui def add(sender): x = float(sender.superview['txtX'].text) #1 y = float(sender.superview['txtY'].text) #2 sum = x + y #3 sender.superview['txtOutput'].text(str(sum)) #4 ui.load_view('SimpleCalGui').present('sheet')

Keyboard question
While using Pythonista, I inadverdantly made a selected that changed my keyboard from English to German. Does anyone know the fix? I have already gone to the general keyboard settings on the IPad and it still shows English.

Importing images
Is there a way to import an image from the camera roll into the Pythonista documents folder?
