@cvp yes those actions make no difference. But, i have stumbled on the solution ..
In ipad settings > general (all keyboards) > shortcuts, must be enabled.

@ccc ya mon, i have 'allow extra row' enabled.
The pythonista keyboard in enabled.
The globe key switches between the system keyboard and the pythonista keyboard (the full ansii style).
There is an empty gray rectangle where the python special chars should be.
The ansii keyboard is actually a good alternative but something has changed since recent ios update and/or pythonista reinstall. -
