    • Video as a background

How would I go about setting the background of a scene to a video? Could I download a custom video, import it, then use it as a background, or do I have to set it something like a Webview? Any links/explanations would be appreciated. Thanks!

      @cvp said:

      ui.Image.named('path').with_rendering_mode(ui.RENDERING_MODE_ORIGINAL)

      Worked like a charm lol

@cvp ah ok. I am busy at the moment but I think I am going to consider the google map sdk, as I have a clear example of what I am looking for. I’ll update you more later.

      See this example.

This is exactly what I want. Unfortunately, this is for google maps.

    • RE: Suggestions for My App?

@cvp This is helpful, but not exactly what I am looking for. I am going to keep looking at it, as these are only the basic implementations of those mk functions.

Also, this is in javascript isnt it? Does it transfer to pythonista in python?

@cvp ok, I'm trying to look at it now. Hard to tell what exactly I'm looking for since the documentation doesn't have picture examples.

      see this example

It is a bit difficult to see, but it captures the idea I have. I would like it to be more smooth around the edges, this one is rather blocky (shaped like squares).

    • Suggestions for My App?

Hi, this post is more so for @cvp as it has been a long while since I have been here on these forums. Nonetheless, any input would be appreciated. As cvp knows he did the lord's work helping me bring my ideas to life with an app that used apple maps to keep track of locations of trash found around cities. I wanted to continue making the app but due to a lack of knowledge and more high school garbage getting in the way, I could not.

Reflecting back on it now, my app was very flawed, and I am not sure I should continue using Pythonista, as the implemented apple maps didn't seem to have all the functionalities I wanted (such as being able to make a detailed UI system on the map and being able to produce a heatmap).

If anybody (especially cvp) knows if it is possible to continue my idea, I would love to know, or should I consider using a different IDE and/or language.

    • Registering When An Image is Overlapping With A Set Rectangle?

I'm making a minigame for my app and I just wanted to clear up some things before I begin...

I will have two rectangles, each will be on separate sides of the screen, left and right. I will have an image that spawns in at the top center of the screen and slowly falls down. I will use tilt controls in order to make the object in the center move left and right.

In order to register when the center image overlaps with a rectangle, how would I go about doing this? I would prefer if the entire image had to overlap with the rectangle before it was considered to have overlapped it.

    • RE: Map API, need suggestions for how to execute ideas

@cvp works great as always. Looks like this should be the final thing I ask of you for now. Until tomorrow or something when I inevitably run into an issue. I just have to decide where to go from here... Most likely I will work on making minigames as it was the next part of my plan. I have a roadmap I am trying to follow so hopefully I can stay on track.

@cvp Maybe this whole ‘ID’ thing would be for later... I do expect to have an account system because it will open up for customizable accounts (and some money making) so that’s going to be a while down the line I guess.

@cvp 3rd option is best. I want people to know they can clean it, but when they press on it it will tell them they have to be closer.
