Seems perfectly reasonable. If you wanted to wait to buy the HW, you could probably work on the interface using the ipad and a laptop.

Whoops, my bad. Apparently when I tested this, I had the global tab_width still in the namespace, so the code appeared to work. I just checked in an update...

Actually, I'm a little confused by the traceback, since it implies tab width was a global, instead of an attribute of self (the fix I checked in added a self to that line where there was none before)

Okay, so I got this to work using ui.delay, however, then I see the console for a second inbetween the view closing and the PDF opening, and the same thing when I close the PDF. Supposing I export this app, what will the user see?

Thanks for all the help JonB. You can't see it, but I'm giving you two thumbs up, since there's no other way to officially appreciate people on the forum. I will definitely give all this a try when I can. Unfortunately I accidentally left my iPad in someones car and won't get it back until tomorrow. I will report back when I get a chance to try it out.
