Button title animation
-
I just wanted to ask if it's normal that when changing a buttons title that it is animated. My buttons in a view or the title bar always do a sort of fade in. I am not sure if this is because some of my accessibility settings or it's just normal. I really don't want this behaviour if somehow I can stop it.
I can see it does not happen with labels. But I find buttons are often so much more convenient than labels. Besides, the title bar buttons can not be labels.
Whist the button title animation is threaded, it still gives the perception of being slow.Another thing I have been living with and not asked about before :(

There's unfortunately no way to turn this off (it's even kind of difficult to do this in native code).
For
ButtonItem
s (in toolbars), you could replaceleft/right_button_items
completely with new buttons instead of changing the title... For regular buttons, the only alternative is using labels (as a subview of aButton
with no title). -
Ok, thanks @omz. Easy to live with when you know that's the way it is.
I haven't tried the replacing the buttons in the title bar, however I expect it would exhibit the same behaviour maybe just a fraction slower. (Maybe)
But, I am happy to live with it given that's the best I can do. I thought I was missing something.
