Can't find Pythonista 3 widgets??
-
I've just purchased Pythonista 3 and was running the scripts that was already download with the app and there was "launcher.py" file that required to be ran from the (Pythonista Today Widget). So I went to the home screen and swiped from left to right (to access the widgets page) and went to the very bottom and tabbed on "Edit" button and didn't find any widget related to Pythonista..
After that, I tried to restart my iPhone but nothing changed and then tried to uninstall and reinstall the app and still the same problem appeared..
Any suggestions?!

I seem to remember reading that the feature isn't available yet :)
-
I can't find the today widget either :D
-
Yes, the Today widget is not available in the App Store version of Pythonista 3. It was available for a while in the beta, but was removed before the App Store release, because the widget often had issues because of the RAM limitations. The current beta has a new version of the widget, so it might be added again whenever the next update comes out.

The widget was in the latest release in Pythonista3
-
@davidferaam, what do you mean it was in the "latest" version of Pytrhonista 3? I have the App Store version of Pythonista 3 which I believe is the latest version of Pythonista 3 and I don't have the widget(s).

There is a new update version 3.1 in the app store..

Cool!! Congrats to @omz on this release.
I am in the Beta program and am still running Pythonista v3.0.1 (30114) which is numerically lower that the v3.1.0 that is now in the AppStore. There was no automatic switch out of beta and into the AppStore release. Are these two releases identical or is there a compelling reason to do a manual "upgrade" to the AppStore version? I always worry about losing my scripts in such a switch.

@ccc Except for minor changes in the release notes, they're absolutely identical.

i see that Pythonista in the App Store is at 3.1 and my version is 3 yet the App Store only shows "Open" but no option to "update", which is strange since all my other apps show "update" when these apps have an update. Is there a setting in Pythonista 3 or some way to force an update since it is clearly 3.1 and I have 3.0?
-
@ltddev Were you ever in the Pythonista beta program?
-
@ccc , no I was not in any of the beta programs. I found the update worked from the updates page, although from the app's own page when an update is available the button changes from "open" to "update". I was not seeing that from the app's page itself. My only option was "open" and when I opened and went to the settings dialog in Pythonista 3 it clearly said 3.0 and not 3.1 (which it did display after updating from the updates page). Now I have the widget!
