Welcome!
This is the community forum for my apps Pythonista and Editorial.
For individual support questions, you can also send an email. If you have a very short question or just want to say hello — I'm @olemoritz on Twitter.
Some very basic questions on this forum
-
I have some very simple questions about this forum.
-
Does someone have a good reference on how to do Markdown here? I am on an iPad and it looks to me like the toolbar is broken on Chrome/iPad. If I go to a PC and use Chrome I get much better functionality. Am I suppose to be using Safari or something?
-
How am I suppose to be monitoring threads that I have made comments in for activity? I see that there is an RSS icon on the home page, but not clear on how that is suppose to be used. It is painful right now keeping track of what is going on by manually checking and polling the website. There must be an easier way.

You can follow @pyista_forum to see the latest posts. Also you can append
?format=rss
to the end of any post url to get a RSS feed of comments for a specific post. E.g. the RSS feed for this post is http://omz-forums.appspot.com/pythonista/post/6369820127789056?format=rss -
As is stated below the comment field, the forum software uses standard Markdown, plus optional Python syntax highlighting in code blocks.
To keep track of new posts I use the RSS feed, and feed reader I use is an app named xFeed - it doesn't have any fancy features or anything, though I find it much more usable than some of the top results you get when searching the App Store for "feed reader". That might be because I mainly use RSS feeds to keep track of forum posts, GitHub and wiki changelogs rather than news sites.

I use the flipboard app to keep updated. If you long press on the rss icon, you will get an option to copy it. I just paste that in flipboard, and I get the updates.
There is also an RSS reader workflow
If you are trying to post to the forums, someone generously created a workflow that posts the current document in editorial to this site

Re markdown, One thing I've found to be very helpful, is to create a shortcut for triple backticks, to post code.
In the settings app-> general-> keyboard -> add new shortcut. I created a shortcut which maps ,,, to ``` , since , is readily available on the ipad keyboard.
