Create stand alone app
-
I saw a few stand alone apps that were created with pythonista.
How do you take a pythonista app and make it stand alone ?
Thanks

The XCode build template described here is the way to build a standalone app that you can submit to the Apple App Store.

I've an iPad 3 with iOS 8.4 that is supposed to have a 32 bit CPU. can I use it in simulation mode with the Xcode template?
-
@ManuelU You should be able to. In order to publish the app to the App Store however, you'll need an Apple Developer account.
-
I've an Apple iOS Developer Academic License from my University (Salamanca,Spain) and I've registered my iPad 3 and iPad Air 2. I downloaded the template which will be installed in my Mac mini with OSX Yosemite.
-
@ManuelU You should be good to go then.
-
can I use it in simulation mode with the Xcode template?
I think you're confused about simulators, they're virtual devices on your Mac. Your iPad doesn't have a "simulation mode"
-
I know that. I read in a post that simulation mode only worked with 32 bits iPad in the bets template.and not with 64 bits devices
-
Sorry, I forgot to say that I use Xcode with a Mac mini OSX Yosemite in simulation mode and after debuging I compile the native soudrce code in an iOS device whose UDID is registered, in order to be able to transfer the compiled stand alone App,.acording to the Academic License terms
-
Ok. So by simulation mode on an iPad, you just meant loading the app onto the iPad?
-
Not exactly. Te simulation is done in the Mac with the Xcode loaded and the specific template adn source code in a folder. The iPad has to be conected to the Mac through iTunes and USB . When you enter in simulation mode you can try all buttons of the GUI and the output, as if you were using the App. Yo may chose an specific device or an universal one and the device orientation as well. If you are happy with the results then you chose the compilation option, where the source code is compiled into a stand alone App an transfered to the device you registered trough the developer's group Administrator. If you have a one year license you can use any supported device and send the App by email or even sell it through the Apple Store

I know this. Now I see you meant that there is no 64 bit template in the simulator.
