ui.present('sidebar') not working in 2.0?
-
I tried to present a ui as a sidebar in 2.0, but it doesn't appear. Is this because of the new tabs system?
At any rate, it would be nice to have a ui.present('tab') feature as well as having the sidebar option.

Sidebar is gone sadly. Though using objc it is possible to duplicate this, or do much more complicated things (basicslly you can add a view anywhere to the view heirarchy). I will post some screenies soon of an in-source debugger i have been fiddling with... using objc it is possible to overlay higlighting of the current source line, add/remove breakpoints by tapping in the gutter area, show a sidebar, or extra menu bar, etc. I am a long way from complete, but have just exploring the feasibility of some the underlying features.

Awesome! Can"t wait to see that! :-)

Okay. I guess I will use a popover for now. Thanks (although I am not anywhere familiar with objective c. Guess now I should learn it. Wish I could us Swift or something. Perhaps it is possible with it being open source and all?

although it is called the objc module, it is neither objc, nor swift, but really python bindings to the objc methods. You don't need to learn objc exactly, but it helps to be able to read objc, to make use of examples and reading apple docs.

Come on, if you never used objc it is very difficult to understand this... Luckily i have not much but a little bit of knowledge

Cool. Thanks JonB. I will look into it more. I'll trade a sidebar option for more power and flexibility. ;)
