RE: Pythonista 1.6 beta Is available again!
One question: Will Pythonista retain its prior save data after a valid provisioning profile is installed once more, or will I be required to restore everything from Dropbox?
-
RE: Pythonista 1.6 Beta
@wradcliffe, this has always been possible, albeit with the help of a few scripts. I don't think Apple's kernel sandboxing applies to the accessibility of the app bundle. The method in which you were able to access the app bundle is strange, to say the least.

RE: Pythonista 1.6 Beta
@TutorialDoctor, I just downloaded Workflow. It's a nice app, but the gallery doesn't display the top row of workflow categories on my iPad Air 2. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

RE: Pythonista 1.6 Beta
Hi @Omz. Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you, I was somewhat busy for a while.
Anyway, I found a few possible quirks.
<ul>
<li>[Major] Some scripts are deleted after accessing them, then closing the app. The file remains, but is blank when an attempt is made to access it.</li>
<li>[Minor] When typing, a random character is occasionally chosen between spaces, instead of the intended character. This might just be a problem with my keyboard, though.</li>

RE: Pythonista 1.6 Beta
@JonB, to my knowledge, it simply installs a provisioning profile separate from the official Pythonista install.

RE: Pythonista 1.6 Beta
Hi @Omz. Just sent you an email. The reminders module definitely looks interesting!

RE: Git in pythonista?
Yes, but Git integration isn't built in due to restrictions put in place by Apple. I recommend FileDownloader in Pythonista-Tools.

RE: iOS 8, pythonista on ipad?
I've got iOS 8 on my iPad 2, there don't seem to be any major bugs, but certain programs do seem to run more slowly on iOS 8. There have also been multiple crashing issues that have come up, though mostly for older apps that haven't been optimized even for iOS 7 yet. It's an overall improvement, I'm sure Apple will fix the occasional bugs.
-
RE: Apple's Latest - how will it affect Pythonista?
I second this. There are a lot of opportunities iOS 8 offers that would allow Pythonista to expand its capabilities. Though Apple might not approve of certain features, I look forward to seeing what new abilities iOS 8 will bring to Pythonista.

RE: Cacti Killer is now available in the App Store!
Downloaded and Installed. :)
Unfortunately, as others have mentioned, it's not the most current release, but nevertheless a great app!
Also: You could add that it was developed with Pythonista, if you want to. -
RE: Cacti Killer
Looks great, will download this at the time of the release. I'm no good with the UI module so I can't help you there, but I'll try to see if I can offer any help with your other problems. As a sidenote, I disapprove of the name (you can guess why).

RE: Pythonista Webbrowser
Sorry if this has already been answered, but what are you guys using to download .pyui files?

RE: Games and apps released using Pythonista?
@smkirby: That's great! A letter from the Apple CEO is quite an accomplishment for an 8 year old....
@techteej: You could put the current version in the App Store, and just keep updating it when you write in new features. Just a thought. Or was that not your concen? I played the most recent version of Cloud Jump, it's not too bad. -
RE: Import file
As others said above, since Apple restricts the downloading if executable code, I usually just copy/paste the code in, or use Shellista to import from GitHub.

Pythonista Custom Keyboard iOS 8
This is slightly off topic from the regular discussions, but is there any chance that Pythonista is going to make its keyboard available system-wide with the impending release of iOS 8? I would like to be able to use it in apps other than just Pythonista.
-
RE: Pythonista Custom Keyboard iOS 8
No, I might be wrong about this, but I think an app containing a custom keyboard/extension has to have some functionality to it, other than just the extension/custom keyboard. The functionality part is probably just going to be implemented in most apps by including a simple text editor.

RE: Number factorizer
Simple little tweak, put this in, instead of putting that n = 1000:
<code>
import consolen = int(console.input_alert("Enter the number to be factorized: "))
</code>As you can probably tell, it asks the user for the number, instead of having to go into the source and manually change it.
