Is it possible to read title/main text of push notifications on iOS?
-
Hi, I'm trying to get the ability to have the iOS (on phone as example) to automatically detect an incoming push notification (remote notification) from a particular application, then read the title/main text as a string variable and write it to a CSV file which is then uploaded to the cloud. (dropbox as an example)
This can be done easily on an Android phone, but for iOS, I can't find a commercial application that does it. I'm already working with Python to process that CSV file after it has been created.
Please advise if this is possible via Pythonista and its available libraries/modules. (had a quick search but not sure if there is a specific way) Thanks!

@cvp Thanks, but I'm still unsure how to implement this via Pythonista's buildn iOS modules. I had a quick look at the notification module but it is all about scheduling and sending them. I need to receive incoming remote notifications and process them via Python scripts. Wonder if this is even possible? Thanks.

@Temjinck Even if Pythonista has a Bluetooth module, I don't think that the Pythonista app it-self (running a BT script) could uses this ANCS feature. But it has to be confirmed.

@cvp Thanks. I don't think the BT module is of any use of me. I'm not really trying to process the notification received on an iPhone on another BT connected device. It's about processing the remote notifications received ON the iPhone device. Accessing the ACNS may help, but not sure if this is possible.

@Temjinck I understand your request, but it is only to show that it is technically possible to intercept notifications for other apps than yours, but that Apple only authorizes that for a particular type of app driving a BT device

@cvp Thanks for your help again, appreciated it.

@Temjinck Something to add: an app (like smart watch BT driver) can only access notifications that we authorize to be shown on the iDevice lock screen, thus notifications we accept to be visible by anybody...
