Well gist is finally broken
-
GitHub has been sending threatening emails for months about the retirement of insecure password methods, and it looks like they have finally turned off password gist authentication, breaking Pythonista....
Time to work on a new Alternative for the wrench menu..

Much better to do repos rather than gists anyway.
-
@cvp, I guess we can easily create a wrench action to do the oauth and create a gist, but each user would need to have their own account and a client ID and secret...
Also looked at Working Copy in the hopes that it could be used to create a gist, maybe via a Shortcut action, but looks like no gist support there.
Of course, as @ccc said, having a misc repo where you drop things for sharing is not more trouble any more, almost less.
This is not a Pythonista issue, really, but is sad that Pythonista users experience it as a degradation of Pythonista functionality.
