It does now :-) There is a user_agent property that can be used to set a custom user agent string. I have not yet gotten it to return the default when custom is not set, but that is not relevant here.

I think the key is to find a way making nsrequest cache images. I ran share_cache.currentMemoryUsage() during the site loading. The memory usage is very small.

Some additional info ...

Don't try to do it via NSMutableURLRequest & setValue:forHTTPHeaderField:, doesn't work, UIWebView overwrites it. When UIWebView will be replaced with WKWebView (in Pythonista), it will be much easier because of customUserAgent property.

or replace webview1 with whatever you named your webview in the designer.

Thanks for looking at my code. I'm glad to know I hadn't overlooked something silly.

As it is, I am trying to make an extension to re-display or mobilize certain kinds of websites. Imagine if I went to a website full of thumbnails, and the script grabbed all of the linked full-size images. There's other websites and whatnot, but I was mostly playing around with extensions for now.

I can confirm that this is still a bug on iOS 9.3 beta, where all the web dialogs were redone.
